A hotline, 0712152222 has been opened by the Disaster Management Centre of the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) to offer health assistance for flood victims, GMOA sources said.
According to the sources, people can call the hotline, 0712153333, to make donations or call the hotline, 07121511111 to offer voluntary services. The centre conducted health camps for the flood victims from Dodangoda, Bulathsinhala and Madurawala yesterday.
The GMOA has already allocated doctors and anesthetists for rescue operations.
Several teams of doctors serve at welfare camps. The GMOA has informed its members to prevent taking leave and contribute towards relief services as much as possible during this period, the sources added.
