Forty eight schools damaged in Sabaragamuwa floods

The recent heavy rain and floods had caused damage to 48 schools in the Sabaragamuwa Province. The damage caused amounted to nearly Rs. 350 million, according to a rough estimate, said Provincial Ministry of Education, Information Technology and Cultural Affairs Secretary Mahinda Weerasooriya.

He said, 21 schools in the Ratnapura and Kegalle Districts have been used as refugee camps for flood and landslide victims. Out of the 48 schools damaged, 47 are in Ratnapura and the other in the Kegalle district.
