Extradition treaty with China approved

The extradition treaty between Sri Lanka and the Peoples’ Republic of China received Cabinet approval this week.

The treaty regarding the extradition process was signed by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe during his official visit to China last year. Thereafter, President Sirisena in his capacity as Defence Minister put forward the treaty on Tuesday for Cabinet approval.

Sri Lanka also shares extradition treaties with Russia, Hong Kong, Italy, Maldives, Russia, UAE, USA, Vietnam, Turkey and Ukraine.
