The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to appoint a sub committee to reprioritise allocations made for development projects in the 2017 Budget.
A sub committee will make recommendations on the best way to reprioritise such allocations for rehabilitation of damaged buildings and other capital assets following the disaster.
This Cabinet sub-committee will comprise Finance and Media Minister Mangala Samaraweera, Foreign Affairs Minister Ravi Karunanayake and Public Enterprise Development Minister Kabir Hashim.
