An Air Force officer who allegedly misused an ATM teller card which belongs to a businessman and purchased goods worth Rs. 415,563 from shopping complexes, was arrested by Kohuwala Police. According to Police, the officer had taken an ATM card left in the ATM teller machine in the commercial bank in Kohuwala. He had purchased goods from supermarkets using the ATM card. However, the Air Force officer was caught at one shopping mall as he put a different signature when producing the ATM card to the cashier. The suspect, 33, a resident of the 03rd Lane, Wickramasinghepura, Battaramulla is attached to the Air Force Headquarters in Colombo.
The Gangodawila Magistrate ordered the Air Force officer to repay the financial loss caused by him to the victimised businessman.
