The death toll from the Meethotamulla disaster has reached 23, the Disaster Management Ministry said.
Rescue work continues in the area.
The Colombo National Hospital confirmed that eight people were receiving treatment – one, in critical condition.
Over 145 houses were damaged in the incident that occurred Friday.
