Two women and a man have died from food poisoning in Irakkamam, Ampara today, over five-hundred were hospitalised.
The deceased are A.M. Haleema, aged 45, Kalandar Mariyandur, aged 63, and Mohamed Kasim aged 53.
The food in question was distributed at a function at a mosque in Ampara.
The post-mortem will be held today.
Ampara Police is investigating.
